Dr. McCoy What Were You Thinking?

When Bones shoots Lee Marvin point blank after giving up and knowing there is no way to escape, it's just one of many unrealistic scenes in this film. I guess the idea is the southerner is bloodthirsty and will kill even when he knows the result will be his own death. I love Elizabeth Taylor and Montgomery Clift, but even they couldn't salvage this long poorly written and directed soap opera.
