Is this the one?

I've been trying to locate a movie I saw as a kid for eons. I think I saw it several years ago, but I'm not sure of the title.

The scene that stands out most in my memory is a group of people in gas masks looking through some small port-hole type window at something that resembles the Blob.

Is this that film, or does this sound familiar to anyone?

Thanks

Yep, this is the one. US version was called Enemy from Space. Saw it in the early 60's. The guy coming down the food dome covered in a black substance scared the wits out of me. Good flick.

After reading the review on the main page and then reading this post,I finally have solved a mystery that has had me wondering for years. I too saw this flick when I was a kid and the scene with the guy covered with what looked like black tar stuck in my memory. For years I've wracked my brain trying to remember what movie it was. Being familiar with "The Quartermass Xperiment",I'm surprised I didn't remember this one as being a "Quartermass"movie too,but for whatever reason,I didn't. Guess I was too traumatized by that scary scene!

No, you're thinking of the Anna Nicole Smith autopsy film...

soon to be released!

It scared me as a kid, too. Never knew what it was till a few years ago.

I never saw the Quatermass films when I was a kid, but I did hear about them. I used to see posters in monster magazines and I vividly remember some horror documentary back in the seventies showing the man cover in smoking black sludge stumbling down the staircase. It disturbed me back then, and I didn't even know what it was about!

Two of the scariest movies I remember as a kid were "The Creeping Unknown" and "Enemy From Space" --- AKA: Quatermass and Quatermass 2 in England (the original titles of course)! Incredible effects for the time, great scary music used in both films and Brian Donleavy as Quatermass. Memorable scenes in both.
