There are some old movies being remade using computer graphics. I urge production companies to remake this particular movie. It is the best British SF film even. Plot is great and the screenwriting is outstanding. With CGI, I believe the companies will profit from this endeavor.
Again I urge Universal, Warner Bros, New Line and etc. to remake this great SF Film.
Though this is a late response, I agree that the Quatermass Movies need new updated versions, especially this one.
It could basically follow the original script, only the science has to be updated, which wouldn't pose any serious problems.
I'm sure many young SF fans would like it. It has tension, suspense and action as well as story. All those prime ingredients.
Needs the right director, who is also very familiar with the originals. And will not go CGI crazy.
The only problem is that it will be accused of "ripping off" X FILES, when we all know that X FILES "borrowed" much from the Quatermass stories. One of Chris Carter's old favorites.
Would still love seeing a great and definitive version. Quatermass needs to be discovered by the younger SF fans.
