Great '50s noirs
Hey, everybody. I'm looking for recommendations for films that are similar to Plunder Road. The heyday of film noir was in the '30s and '40s, with some film scholars even going so far as to claim that any picture made after Double Indemnity is not "true" film noir. While there may be some merit to this position, I love a lot of the black and white crime/noir pictures I've seen from the '50s. Here's a short list. Recommendations in the same vein would be much appreciated!
The Asphalt Jungle (1950)
Panic in the Streets (1950)
Kansas City Confidential (1952)
The Narrow Margin (1952)
The Big Heat (1953)
Kiss Me Deadly (1955)
The Killing (1956)
Plunder Road (1957)
The Sweet Smell of Success (1957)
Touch of Evil (1958)
Hmm. OK. I just realized that films released in 1950 technically count as '40s film noir, since decades start with a "1" and end with a "0," but, whatever...
