Anybody ever seen a live production? [SPOILERS]

I'm curious if Mr. Hassler is meaner in other versions, because he doesn't really seem mean enough to be a thief in this one. I love this version, and here, Mr. Hassler just seems like a stubborn old man, determined to stand his ground and not give in. Even at the end when you find out the raise was added to the books months ago, it seems like he only refused as a matter if principal, rather than keeping it for himself.

Some businessmen do ruthless deeds with a smile and easy going demeanor either to hide their true nature or simply that's how they are as people. In "Working Girl", Sigourney Weaver comes off as giving and fair, but steals Melanie Griffith's ideas then turns into a raving bitch when confronted.

"Great theater makes you smile. Outstanding theater may make you weep."
