The fighter he tried to steal

The Luftwaffe would have loved to get its hands on the Hawker Hurricane fighter Von Werra tried to steal. Nearly two-thirds of RAF Fighter Command's fighters during the Battle of Britain were Hurricanes, while about one-third were Spitfires, with a small number of less effective types. Most of the Hurricanes in the battle were the Mk. I type, which were slightly inferior to the German Messerschmitt Bf-109E (which Von Werra flew). But the plane Von Werra tried to steal was a brand new Mk. II (if you watch the movie carefully, you'll see this particular plane identified as a Mk. II), which would have been practically equal to the Bf-109, meaning it would have been quite a prize for the Luftwaffe.

Yes and if you listen to Von Werra when he arrives at the base he also commentas on how big the new model is.
This Hurricane in the film actually is still in existence and is in flying condition with the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, LF363 I think from memorey.
