How old was Travis supposed to be?

Travis seemed about 14 - 15ish, the squeal "Savage Sam" has the same characters and actors for many of the roles, and is said to take place 5-6 years later. The brothers look now 12 & almost 20. Was filmed ~ 6 years later.
