This film changed my life....

Although my occupation was nothing like Cabiria's, I related a lot to Cabiria in the sense that I was Human. I was human and although I wanted love and all the good things; I am simply alright with what I have. And you can knock me down twice but I'll still get up.

This is one of the most beautiful films I've ever seen and it's a shame that it isn't recognized as much as others.

It's probably not flashy enough to appeal to some. Certainly, Fellini's movies have been popular, but I think if more people would give him a try, they would enjoy his love of humanity and his unmistakable warmth.

Oh, I think Fellini buffs believe this is one of his greatest films. I couldn't agree with you more. The first time I saw it, I walked out of the theatre, stunned beyond belief and just started to walk. When I 'came to,' I had walked about three or four miles, across the Brooklyn Bridge from Greenwich Village. That was many years ago and I have no recollection of that walk or the bridge-- the film blew me away. Massina is triumphant and the film is, in every way, absolutely magnificent.

It did win the Oscar (how ironic, eh?) and Masina won the Best Actress award at Cannes. I think the film was given its just recognition at the time, so take heart.

Don't you snap your finger at ME, lady.

I really, really like your unpretentious post, Hipsofachick. ;)
I think Fellini and Masina would, too.

It's one of my very favourite films of all times, too.

But I have to disagree on one thing: I think it IS duly celebrated.
(For a change!)

Watched it last night and loved it so much. Your words are perfect thankyou.
It was on World movies and I managed to record it. I must say that I would have loved to have scooped her up and saved her though.

It's that one moment, less than a second, when she looks into the camera, at US, thanking US for being there for her, and for Fellini's art, including US on this ride we're all on.

What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence.

it's a very relatable film. who doesn't feel like dieing because nothing goes your way?
