Robert Stack

In his autobiography, Stack wrote he was turned down Mitchell's role, as he said it would brand him as a scuz. Stack went on to write he was correct, as Mitchell was then given that type role for years.

I think he made the right decision even though the film was never that well known. The role also did not fit his personallity as he always played the senceable hero type in most of his films. Mitchell was perfect for this role though. He was my stepmothers cousin from York Pa. area.

Poor Cameron Mitchell. He never got to play any other type of character than ignorant testeronically over-amped know-nothing hardasses. Probably a really nice guy in "real life." Guess it kept the bills paid.

___I found Mitchell difficult to believe as the same man who had appeared in How To Marry A Millionaire, romancing Laureen Bacall. He seemed to have some promise as an actor, but never quite made it. Could be bad career choices, all I know is he was an actor you saw hit and miss, then not at all.
