All Holden needed to do was switch seats with Miss Harrington. The overhead light would not have shown down on him then.
Karswell should have told Holden to mind his own business because England too has freedom of religion. That how a man prays and to whom is his or her own affair.
Karswell had nothing to fear from any investigation. If it ever got proved his devil cult was real, so many people would want to join, they'd probably rival the C of E in membership, :-)
