What quick gun? (Spoiler Warning)

Mike Hammer only drew his gun two times in the film "My Gun is Quick"(1957). Both draws were fairly quick but no quicker than any other characters in this film. There was only one scene where Hammer fired his gun.

The first draw was when he defended the woman in the cafe. the second draw was during the denouement on the boat.

I expected to see a film more like the Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer television series. The film had a film noir feel to it and the cinematography was high quality but the plot was weak and the acting was too melodramatic.

On a positive note, there were several foxy actresses in this film and they were fair to look upon.

All the more reason for someone to pick up the ball and make a 2014 film version of one of the Hammer novels. Today, it would be no problem to include all of the aspects from the printed versions that were considered too "racy" for the screen in 1957. It would sure as hell be more fun to watch than some of the awful dreck that's come out of Hollywood in recent years.
