Umm...is it a requirement to be an old geezer to be a lock caretaker?

Actually, it seems like a pretty good job. Not a lot of work and you can catch up on your reading. Anyone know what the salary is?

I would think twice about taking the position. Not only do you have to be an old geezer, but you get paid at scale for 1957.

Not only that, but it's impossible to get health or life insurance when you're a lock caretaker. The premiums are insanely high due to world-challenging monsters sucking out your bodily fluids when your back is turned.

And then there are those darn kids, always swimming in the (agricultural-runoff-contaminated) ponds. "Hey, you kids! Get out of my cesspool!"

Actually, considering current technology, you can watch tv on your Kindle, surf the web, and shop online. Best job going. Maybe do a lil shotgunning while you're at work too.
