One Of The Most Ridiculous War Movies Ever Made

Never have seen a war movie that has so much of the most undisciplined and unrealistic things soldiers would do in any given situation, the whole movie is almost laughable! Without spoiling it for anyone who reads this, suffice to say
the U.S. soldiers act like they haven't had any training whatsoever nor any kind of testing as to mental capabilities. They do things without explaining why they are doing them, the dialogue is cryptic and overly emotional and makes our guys look clumsy and cowardly.
Pass.

He was exceptional as the young, shell-shocked Corporal who did not know what to do. I don't watch war movies all that often but I enjoyed this one. I also love Morrow as Sgt.Saunders in "Combat!"

ememjee, you don't know what you are talking about. My Dad was a veteran of the Korean War and he thought this film was pretty good. He said it was a little melodramatic, but he thought it was better than most of the other films about Korea he'd seen. He wasn't in the Army like the guys in the movie, he was a Marine,1st Marine Regt,1st Division, but I think he knew more about that particular conflict than most of us posting here do.

I'll recommend some historical reading for you. Go search on the words "Taskforce Smith."

Eighty percent of the soldiers in the U.S. Army and the Marines never pull a trigger on the battle field. They serve in combat support roles that do not go to the front line or in service support roles that are strictly rear area. Because the Korean War began as a surprise attack by the peace loving (gotta love that) North Korean People's Army, South Korea was defended for the first three months mostly by these kinds of troops who were doing occupation duty. Even those soldiers who had combat training had come in after the end of WWII and had no combat experience. They did the best they could, but they made a lot of mistakes. That may be why the soldiers who were there found this to be realistic.
