This doesn't seem like an accurate depiction of Lon Chaney at all

From what I heard about Lon Chaney , he was quiet and calm and a very caring individual, which is how I always imagined him. I adore Lon Chaney but when I saw this, Cagney (whom I also adore, by the way) portrayed him as, still loving and friendly but also very tempermental and impatient. How accurate and credible was his portrayal? I'd hate to think that he was anything less than a caring and patient man who simply valued his privacy.

Any thoughts?
