Isn't this a version, if not direct re-make, of "The Violent Men", released two years prior?
shareI don't think so. Man in the Shadow deals with post-war racism, which many veterans realized was wrong due to their experiences fighting alongside Afro-Americans during WWII. I know my father's attitude was changed by his experiences. I think that is why it found an audience as a precursor to the civil rights movement of the 60's. By the way, my dad was very much in favor of equal rights for all, especially those who had risked their lives fighting WWII.
