Are that Many People Really that Clueless?

The age difference is a major plot point. In fact, it is the crux of the movie along with his playboy lifestyle. He is an aging skirt chaser.

I don't find the movie far-fetched. If it disgusts you for people to fall in love, don't watch. Hell, if you're all that puritanical, maybe you shouldn't be watching movies at all. Don't drink alcohol, play cards, dance, or sing. Singing is acceptable if the songs are in praise of the Lord.

The best diplomat I know is a fully charged phaser bank.

lol...you think they are puritanical now??? you should have heard them when this movie first came out AND this is the acceptable version of the original script-many many changes before released!

People just suck sometimes!

No offense intended...I've an opinion like everyone else

Yeah, I can imagine. Once something is criticized as being 'immoral' on sexual grounds, many people feel that they need to join in the attack to protect their own image as 'righteous' people.

I don't like the 'be politically correct movement.' But, modern PC is probably no worse than social pressure to abide by a standard that exists primarily in people's imagination ever was.

I don't like the politically correct movement either, but we've come a long way in the last 50 years (faster/further than any other time in modern history). It's a hellova lot better than having to sneak around lying to everyone or breaking the law because you don't give a rats azz because your best friend is black, white, gay, etc. (won't say which applies). At least for the most part now we can be who we are without the overt hostility (from everyone & I do mean everyone including the government) that there once was...and if we can't...well, we can always take pictures, get recordings and sue...not that I'm sue happy, but it is true.

Maybe in the next 50 years we won't need to be politically correct, we'll just be correct! (we can dream can't we?)
