To bad James Mason didn't hire on in the Bratzi role

Brazzi's performance is the weak link in the film's second half. It's not the actor's fault as much as a ridiculous character transformation with which the film never properly resolves or (adequately) explains. Mason was a good actor for playing flawed-dreamer types, but I don't think he could have made the character believable. I would have preferred him working the darker angles, though; they seem beyond Brazzi's range.
