Bad dubbing...
On first arriving at the hotel, one of the guys offers a toast: "To the enemy. As far as I'm concerned, he can have China, Guadalcanal, and the whole stinkin' Pacific." Trouble is, "Guadalcanal" is obviously dubbed. It isn't the original line. Does anybody know what the script said at that point? I've tried and tried to read his lips, but I can't make anything out. I can't help but wonder whose delicate sensibilities the studio would have been guarding at that point in the movie.
