Cary Grant's worst ever movie

This has to be the worst ever movie that Cary Grant has appeared in (unless anyone else knows different)

He appeared in an astonishing number of outstanding movies, much higher than any of his contemporaries and indeed much higher than any movies stars of other eras as well. Several mediocre movies were upgraded and made enjoyable watching merely by his prescence.

However not even Cary Grant could save this movie, it was extremely boring and virtually unwatchable. Still I guess he is entitled to have one such movie in his career.

Yeah...I was afraid of admitting to this. Well not afraid, but I'm not sure how I really feel about this movie. I came here to see what everyone thought, but there doesn't seem to be much of anything going on around here.

I watched it for the first time this afternoon and even though the words were out of sync with each other, I just kept on watching...of course I had nothing better to do, really, but anyway, moving onward...

I can't be the one to say if this is the worst though because Grant's still very new to me, but so far this is the only movie of his where I really did not care for it. I don't like anybody from the movie really--and that's kind of sad because at least I'd like to like his character...you know, aside from him being so damn good looking, that is.

There were a few scenes that made me laugh though, but only because they were so stupid or silly. Things I can't even properly remember now. That can't be a good sign.

There were also a few scenes that made me smile that dopey smile I seem to get lately when I see Grant do something that makes my heart flutter--you know, one of those universal fan-girl moments (and even if you don't know, then you know of)--but that's about it.

I don't think I'll be watching this movie again any time soon, but stranger things have happened. If I do put it on, I'll just be fishing for those extremely handsome shots of Grant. I regret nothing.

His acting was also piss-poor. He just phoned this one in. But I suppose that it can be hard for a fine actor to work up any enthusiasm for such a turkey, so it should come as no surprise that his acting suffers.

This film is utter shambles compared to the majority of Grant's other films, the plot was all over the place.

I haven't seen this movie in probably 30 years -- the only thing that brought me to it was wanting to see Larry Blyden again.

Yes, it's a terrible movie -- and one can only imagine how Stanley Donen, a director and choreographer of great talent with a brilliant history before this film was put in the can, felt about it then, or now.

It was probably made to fulfill some contractual agreement -- to finish off however many movies xyz person/s were required to do in some specified time.

Plus -- what were they thinking, dressing miss 40DDD in 1950s clothing for a film "taking place" in 1944?

I had to weigh in -- even tho' most posts here are as antiquated as silk stockings.

On the contrary, Grant is good here. Although this is in the latter part of his career where he's assumed the role of the distinguished type, here he is functioning in his earlier youthful kind of persona which is evident from the sounds he makes and his high energy. However, I think the part about this film that allows me to have a high opinion of C.G. in it is how he portrayed having malaria or whatever. That scene right before he slugged the industrial guy was intense, I'd never seen Cary like that before.. or when he yelled at him. For the first time in any of his films, and I've seen all them in chronological order, that was the first time he really seemed mad, like genuinely. I think that factor alone makes his acting here essential.

If you enjoy show business insider stories, Langella's "Dropped Names" is something you might like to take along on a plane ride or to a beach. There apparently was an inside quip among actors that Cary Grant was "the greatest actor" as per Cary Grant. Though I enjoyed many of Grant's movie, like Gary Cooper he may be, indeed, over rated as an actor.

"Kiss Them For Me" is not cinematic gem but it was a fun movie for me, in part because of Jayne Mansfield perky charactor. It looks like Ray Walston got the right gal in that movie, while Cary Grant got to go to shopping at Saks Fifth Avenue with Suzy Parker. My imaginary add on to this movie.

"Ready when you are, Mister DeMille."

I totally loved this film. I found the actors to be superb. There were lots of familiar faces too watch for. Visually, I loved the depth of the sets and camera angles. The story line was fun at times, and moving at other times. I enjoyed the anecdotes through out the film. I loved this one.

I'm in for a treat, then, because i thought it was watchable - not great, by any means, but certainly decent enough.

It had some nice commentary on war but otherwise I really didn't enjoy it.

It makes painful viewing this movie. It's by far the worst Cary Grant movie I've ever seen. Unbelievably boring and long drawn out. I won't be watching this turkey again.
