Jet-tison the Reviews

An awful lot of negative vibes around this movie in the reviews, and I could care less. What an enjoyable movie this was to watch between the action scenes, good ole Duke, and the really sexy Janet Leigh. I can't wait to see it again.

For the ordinary movie goer it would have to be classed as a comedy!!
But for the aviation buff it is really good, with high quality footage of rare 50's aircraft.Janet Leigh also has a couple of ''outstanding attributes''
The F 86 flying sequences were flown by some of the top U.S test pilots of the day, including Chuck Yeager. No CGI in this movie, the flying scenes are really good

You're probably right about the comedy comment. Maybe that explains why there are so many negative reviews about the movie and folks thought this was to precisely depict some cold war drama. Conversely, if you just turn on Jet Pilot to have a good time you get it - some action, some spy capers, a lot of romance, and a lot of good aerial footage. And yes, even some comedy in this really likeable flick.

I think you're right, a lot of people simply take this movie WAY too serious. I watched and I thought it was pretty enjoyable and love the shots of Janet Leigh.

Not a BAD film at all, just taken in the right spirit. I watched it with a Russian girlfriend a couple years ago and we both enjoyed it as a rainy afternoon-with-popcorn-at-work-movie. We got a kick out of the cold-war hijinks too. She said: "это хорошо" (shto korosho in case Cyrillic isn't supported) = "That's good"

Actually, I quite enjoyed this film (and I admit that Janet Leigh had a lot to do with that). Seriously, there were great shots of the B-36 and several other fifties aircraft. Also some of the stuff the Russians were doing like administering the syrum that got Wayne's character to reveal the information they wanted was based on a true story. This is actually a rather underrated film. Oh, don't get me wrong its not a classic, but but it is what it is a John Wayne cowboy film set in the Jet age. Overall its not really that bad.

I enjoyed it. The first time I saw it I was 6 years old and never understood what my parents were laughing at. The double entendres are hilarious.

I enjoyed it too.
