Is the Australian DVD really 4:3/ full frame/ academy/ non-widescreen?

I'm taking about the disc in the Universal box set with the white box which states on the back that it's 4:3 ratio.

Anyone know the answer?

The Movie was made in 1949 and held back for release until 1957. The proper aspect ratio in 1949 was 1.37 (4.3).

Thanks, spudwas, but my question was about about the particular dvd - reviews for other dvd's for it I've seen online showed the frame cropped top and bottom. It may even have screened like that in some places back in 57, according to something I read online - can't remember where. But I was interested in seeing the full frame version. Don't feel the attraction to see it so much at this point. Anyway, thanks for responding.
