Was Jeanne sexually assaulted by Chick O'Hara?

I know that Jeanne Eagels was a self destructive and talented woman but at the end of the movie when she reunited with Sal Satori and after the committee of Actors Equity had fired her, she seems that she was doing fine, happier and doing much better with Satori's carnival shows. But then there was that guy Chick O'Hara who kept following her like a stalker and he went and found her in her makeup room. At first he seem so kind and concerned but I kinda knew there was something bad and petty about his character. He sexually attacked Jeanne (including ripping her dress) and after he left, Jeanne seems distraught and tramatic about the whole situation that she overdosed with pills and alcohol again for the last time. Was Jeanne sexually assaulted by Chick O'Hara that led to her death? I think the movie was trying to show that Jeanne not only she was doing substance abuse and drinking but was abused herself by men and stalker fans like Chick O'Hara that led to her untimely death. In most cases, people used drugs and alcohol to get rid of the real pain and memories of physical and sexual abuse. I also thought she never got over that Elsie Desmond's Rain incident and for rejecting her longtime lover Sal Satori, I think guilt played a part of Jeanne's downfall.

According to the movie, Jeanne's career was already dipping due to her substance abuse and poor attendance record. By appearing in vaudeville she made a little money and kept her name in the public eye.
The O'Hara character was the typical slapstick comedian on those bills (note the bright check outfit and oversize bowtie when you first see him).
O'Hara makes it clear after Jeanne spurns his advances that she has a reputation for being a party girl who enjoys a good time (this was hinted at earlier in the movie with the drunkenness with her husband)
So, sexually assaulted, but groped and pestered.
She was clearly meant to be no angel, self centered, a boozer and a drug user and by inference, not above having casual sex when she was high or drunk.

The only other "abuse" by men was at the start when the traveling salesman led her on at the beauty contest. In fact it was JEANNE that was abusive to men, Sal, always there for her, used and rejected again and again and the producer who, once she became a star she ordered about and treated like a servant and even the nameless guys from Actor's Equity that she was rude and abusive to.

Come on lads, bags of swank!

That make sense, the only character I had more sympathy for is Sal Satori, he really loved Jeanne and she just brush him off. Her character seems like she abuse her fame, the people who love her like Sal and success because of her drug use and destructive behavior.
