Glad All Over by Carl Perkins

Jamboree features a performance of "Glad All Over" by Carl Perkins and his band. Carl Perkins is playing a Gibson Les Paul Goldtop guitar. The band consists of Jay and Clayton Perkins and Fluke Holland on drums. Holland would later become the drummer for Johnny Cash. "Glad All Over" was the last Carl Perkins single on Sun Records in late 1957. The song is lip-synched in the movie. "Glad All Over" would be covered by the Beatles who performed it on the BBC and the song is available on the album The Beatles at the BBC. George Harrison performed the song live in 1985 with Carl Perkins on the cable special A Rockabilly Session. The Jeff Beck Group also covered "Glad All Over" in 1972 on the Orange album.

Carl Perkins received low billing in the movie because he was not able to follow the chart success of "Blue Suede Shoes" in 1957. Nevertheless, Carl Perkins remained one of the most important and influential rock and roll musicians of the 1950s.
