We've all read about the pictures of the recording artists on the wall of the studio, but who were the performers in the pictures on Hulk's prison cell wall?

Not sure. They weren't necessarily pics of real artists.

Weren't they all pictures of Hunk himself, from his glory days as a semi-famous singer?

Just watched this on TCM. A couple of those photos looked a lot like Hank Williams. Not sayin' they wereHank Williams; just that the images were similar to some of William's publicity photos.
