Title

The title is misleading because the teenager is the monster and not Frankenstein. The movie should've been called I was a Teenage Frankenstein Monster. I guess they figured that was too long.

I guess they realized the point Basil Rathbone made in 'Son of Frankenstein' when he tells his wife "You know 9 out of 10 people call that misshapen creation of my father's...he is interrupted, but the sentence is completed when the conductor calls out the name of the village.."FRANKENSTEIN"

They had to market the film to the general public who think it's the name of the monster!

Using your logic, we should have had "Abbott & Costello meet Frankenstein's Monster"

Even 'Frankenstein meets the Wolf Man' is a correct title because the Wolf Man does meet Elsa Frankenstein, not just the Frankenstein monster.

They knew the title was not correct. It would only have worked if a teenaged character created a monster.(An interesting idea)

I never even thought of that. I do feel that "I Was A Teenage Frankenstein Monster" doesn't have that nice ring to it though. Especially considering the name Frankenstein is forever synonymous with both the doctor and his creation.

Wonder if anyone has the actual name Frankenstein? I suspect so. That would be good. People could never be sure that they have you pegged. Advantage you!
