Video Availability?

I first saw this film when it was released in the United States in 1957.
Even though I owned and operated a large video rental store (12,000 + titles) that specialized in foreign, classic, and fine art films, I was never able to locate a copy of "How to Murder a Rich Uncle", either in NTSC or PAL VHS format.
Does anyone know if the picture was ever released to video at all?
If anyone has a VHS copy taken off television I'd really appreciate borrowing it for a day. I'll be happy to put up a generous deposit.

Did you manage to get a copy of this film? Like you i have been trying to track a copy down, ideally on disc although on any format will do

I have only seen this film once in the 1960's and it does remind me of my childhood.

The reason for this is that the film was made in West Grinstead, Sussex where i grew up and used to play in the old house that featured in the film.

I also knew the people that still live on the site of the house and they was not aware that the film was made there.

So if you have a copy or anyone reading this can you let me know, i am willing to purchase a copy.

Any luck with getting a copy from this site listed, or new info? The page for it is not coming up for me for some reason. I have been wishing for a copy of this for years now, and have never seen it, but it has been highly recommended, and would love to surprise a friend with it as well. Any ideas? Cas

Yes manage finally to get hold of a copy. I found it via youtube, someone managed to record it from there.

You can now get copies off the internet by typing film name as there was a demand.

It was really good to see film again after 45 yrs. This was filmed in west grinstead where i lived as a child.

I am still in contact with the person who now lives there and has plenty of history on the old house. She was not aware of the film thjis is why i was trying to track it down.

Fyi, I bumped into a YouTube stream in six parts. It appears to be complete and it is a nice bright print. I enjoyed the film very much. Got to it by way of looking for Wendy Hiller interviews. This modern age brings the rear view into such sharp focus.
