The scene in the bar where destitute and drunk Helen hears one of her old recordings playing and the bar patrons laugh at her when she declares that the recording is her, was imitated in Valley of The Dolls with Patty Duke.

The subsequent scene where Helen is experiencing the DT's and is placed in a steaming tub, was also imitated in Valley of The Dolls.
