Slow start that builds to dramatic end.

___After reading some of the comments I went into my first viewing with high expectations.
___The start of this film is slow, boring with extreme low key acting, especially on Ann Blyth's part. I thought she was not up to this part, then she gets into trouble fairly quickly, probably faster than the real woman. She more or less redeems herself by the end the film.
___The film reminds me too much of 'Love Me or Leave Me' filmed a couple years earlier. I think Doris Day might have been better. Her own vocals, and the chance to stretch her dramatic chops which she definitely had. I can see how she would pass on a second bio film.
