God Bless Deborah Kerr. She always managed to bring a full spectrum to every role she played. Intelligence, beauty, sexuality, and perhaps above all dignity.

Class! That's what she had! C-L-A-S-S! Just like Ingrid Bergman, Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly.
Who has Class today?!!!

I agree, she had class AND dignity. but, most of all, what she had was tenderness. A lot of observers say she was a cold English presence on the screen, but I don't see her like that at all. I see her as very warm and extremely gentle. More than likely, what is being describes as "cold" by some is just her dignity and integrity shining through, another reason I'm a fan.

To me, she is the epitome of all that is good about being a mature woman. She is more graceful than Grace and yet, more down-to-earth than either Ingrid Bergman or Audrey Hepburn. I just adore her! She really was "The English Rose"!

Please excuse typos/funny wording; I use speech-recognition that doesn't always recognize!

Very nice sentiments MMR. Incidentally, she's SCOTTISH.

One heck of a woman in both looks & class.

From Here to Eternity is my favorite Kerr role but just check her filmography and you will find that she was one of the absolute top movie queens of the 1950's. She packed theaters for months as the older woman/lover in "Tea & Sympathy" a role she reprised in a greatly under-rated movie. She could well have been a Broadway staple if she desired. English Beauty! She epitomizes it.
