Was she crying because...

When Allison was drunk and ranting that they were going to be on the island a long time and inferring that he wanted to be her lover, Sister Angela ran off into the rain crying. I don't believe she was insulted. I think she realized that he was probably right and she couldn't keep her vows forever. It was only a matter of time.

I think you are partially right, but it's more complex than that. One of the problems with Hollywood is that they often cast WWII roles too old. Michum was 40 when he made the film, in reality he, and probably Kerr would have been close to 20 years younger. An old maid may have had better control of her emotions, but a young novice, well, she is young and knows it, she's faced with an extremely difficult decision, whether to keep/finalize her vows (which in Catholicism is the equivalent of marriage, being married to Christ), or to have a future with a young, strong, brave, and arguably handsome young man, who despite his flaws, is a very good man. She is conflicted by having to make the choice between the spiritual and the physical world. That's heady stuff for a 20 year old...

My ignore list is much too long for a sig line. Do not assume you are not on it.

AND I think he also scared her a little.

I am sure she was scared. She has no real experience with men, especially tough guys.
She has never been the object of surging testosterone. If she hadn't gotten sick, they might have gone a different route, with her reluctantly giving up her chastity.
However, She could also have been redeemed, if she confessed, and returned to her vows, a sadder but wiser woman.
The circumstances were extreme, and there would have been adequate basis for a little administrative understanding.

I think when Sister Angela ran away crying, it was because Allison had presented her with a possible scenario where they might be stranded on the island for a very long time or forever, and she might not be able to take her final vows or keep the ones she had already taken.

I could be a morning person if morning happened at noon.

Having seen the film many times l think she was crying because she felt betrayed. She placed her trust in him and he want from a gentleman into a different person.

Respectfully disagree. If you can, watch again the scene in the cave where she exits her delirium. Mr. Allison apologies for the mini fiasco and she states "I wasn't running from you. You wouldn't have done me any harm, I knew that. I was running from the truth."

The truth being Mr. Allison's (albeit drunken) suggestion they might be on that island for years, if not forever and perhaps leave behind their former roles in society, i.e. him being a Marine and her a nun.
