Mitchum and Kerr pranked the Legion of Decency priest

As was common practice in that era, a Legion of Decency priest showed up on the set one day to make sure Kerr was depicting her nun character with due respect. In retaliation for the intrusion, Mitchum and Kerr conspired to shock the daylights out of him. As soon as director John Huston shouted "Action", Mitchum started fondling Kerr's breasts lasciviously. Kerr, in response, grabbed his butt and started kissing him passionately. Apoplectic, the priest complained to Huston. "Damn it, Father, you've just ruined a perfectly tood take with your talking!"

Sounds too good to be true, but the days of strict censorship were winding to a close, so who knows? Maybe it happened more or less that way after all.
