This Flick

is worthless when compared to the far superior "Tombstone" or "Hour of the Gun". Let us rejoice in the fields of those lords.

Nothing exists more beautifully than nothing.

It's different, not worthless. It's very '50's in it's look, stars, music, sound. I like the movie.

reply

Disagree. This film is highly entertaining and underrated. TOMBSTONE is very good, but not a great film. It loses momentum after the O.K. Corral gunfight and there are characters I prefer in this that are equivalent to the ones in TOMBSTONE. For example, Lancaster is a much better Wyatt Earp than Kurt Russell and Rhonda Fleming is better as Wyatt's lady than is Dana Delany. Of course Val Kilmer is incredible as Doc Holliday, but Kirk Douglas ain't too bad!

BOREDOM!

What is the sound an imploding pimp makes?

reply

There was a number of elements in play through out Gunfight at the O.K. Corral which made for engaged viewing. The contrasting personalities of Earp and Holliday coming together whilst exploring the difficulties in their own lives, Earp conflicted with his sense of moral duty and Holliday attempting to better himself causing conflicts with others. All the while showing the worthlessness of leading a gunfigthers life with death and heartache being regular features. The scene between Earp and the youngest Clanton brother is a vital moment in criticising this, "I don't know why I get into gunfights. I guess sometimes I just get lonely".

"I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not".
