I wouldn't think so. Deforrest Kelley was in the film, but I think it could just be a coincidence

Certainly it was. Even for Star Trek the plot of Specter of the Gun was pretty far-fetched. Obviously the writer got the idea from having seen DeForest Kelley in Gunfight at the O.K. Corral and decided to create a Trek episode out of it. A pretty fun idea at that.

I actually have a very vague recollection of having read around the time the show was first broadcast in 1968 or '69 that this episode was indeed inspired by Gunfight at the O.K. Corral. What little I recall is that the writer saw the movie and got the idea.

At that point in time I hadn't seen the film, though I'd seen the Trek episode.
