Those 50's Women

I noticed there being comments made regarding the ladies of that wonderful era of the 1950's : namely,Mara Corday.

I had noted Mara in a classic MCA "Tarantula"

Since that time i have reflected on the femininity and the feistiness of these said gals.

Alas, this has shifted somewhat,as men have become more defensive of women presently-as today's woman has a special bone to pick w\the emasculated male of today !

It is indeed a "battle" zone between the sexes today as it wasn't present in the same way in the 50's...certainly it might have been cat-and-mouse or playful snipping "back then" but now,it seems,it is all out War !

*For honorable mention i would moreover include lovely ladies from the 50's : Cynthia Patrick(Mole People)Shawn Smith(It:Terror From Space & Land UnKnown)lead gal from Revenge of the Creature;also lead Lady from "War of the Worlds"Pat Neal from Day the Earth Stood Still-and to toss in a very personal fave from both 50's & 60's : Barb Shelley. Allison Hayes, etc I know there are more that i haven't mentioned.

-perhaps you,dear Reader,can supply further evidence ....

...crushing she-man sounds apt,Tempus, alas,i wish it were not the case !

Women did not act inferior in the 50's and one felt their inner strength.

Feminism did such a con by stating women could not do this or that so we have to get in the faces of men(lawsuits and the like)when in fact in the 50's you hadn't had to rub men's faces w\threats or pettiness, but showed thru wit and intelligence-and,yes,some toughness you were the equal of a guy,but you worked alongside of that fella instead of having to emasculate him w\taunts or whatever some so-called women do today.

What a cultural shift-what a mess !

I agree! As a woman and a lady, I am embarrassed about the behavior of the majority of females. I truly am ashamed of them and for their ignorance in behaving that way.

For example: A woman slaps a man and it's considered acceptable and even funny. If a man slaps a woman... How long have women been shown throwing drinks in men's faces? At least in the Sixties and back, it generally was either the femme fatale or a young woman who had had something shocking said to her.

I often point out how, as a child of the Fifties, we had strong role models on TV and in movies, the type of women you describe. They made believers of the men with their capability and intelligence, as well as their charms.

How refreshing "a woman" and "a Lady" !

Back "there" was a different time and our culture has shifted to the point as if we are inhabiting another planet ! Feminism sprang from a Stalinist female who saw discontentment a weapon to be used against the traditional family and it has made extraordinary gains in breaking down stability in families as a result, and, further, confusing males in asking: "what do woman really want?"

p.s. All one has to do is look up Antonio Gramschi as the reason for Cultural Revolution in the US and how Marxists work overtime to undermine who they believe is the opposition. And,of course,it is all in the name of "justice, fairness and equality." The last two can be "slippery words."

You`re right on, pal.

A year or two ago President B.O. forgot himself and remarked on how nice a women looked. He had to apologize. Imagine! Apologizing for telling a woman how nice she looked. Crazy world we live in.

Yeah, it's been a real 'flip' since the 50's;

now we have(blessed)manly women and prissy men. What progress !

Back when women didn't believe the male world owed them a living like they're told today by the liberals.
