Breast Feeding

There is a scene where Gia Scala unbuttons to breast feed her baby.
She stops and excuses herself as she is facing Kerwin Matthews. She goes
to the next booth with her back to Kerwin to take care of her baby.
The director photographs her very discreetly, but nevertheless depicts
her breast feeding in public. Since this film came out in the 1950's I
thought it was very provacative to say the least. I'm not sure, but I
would think this would have been the first and maybe only time this may
have been shown in a major motion picture of that time.

As I grew up in the 50's, it was not uncommon to see women doing it on Subways, Buses, etc. It was a fact of life till later on...

this is something women should do in private. How many guys would
want their mothers seen in public doing this?
