Maggie Prescott character

I remember reading somewhere that this character was based on a real fashion editor whose favorite word was pizzazz. But now I can't remember the name of that real person. Can anyone help me? Thanks.

I'd have to say, though that Maggie Prescott has gorgeous feet, lol . On that Bonjour Paree number, when she's dancing in front of the hotel entrance wearing transparent shoes, I couldn't take my eyes away from her feet .

The recent bio of Kay Fink (i.e. Kay Thompson) says the Prescott character was originally called Dana Prescott but Diana Vreeland asked for the name to be changed.
