Dissapointed

Maybe it's because i was expecting to love the film (i mean Audrey Hepburn, Fred Astaire and Paris)... but i just didn't feel anything for it. The romance didn't work for me at all, not because of the age difference, i just didn't feel any chemistry between them, the songs weren't too good, and i found the characters generally bland. The only thing i liked was the clothes.

The fashion (Edith head of course) and set design were the only things I loved- liked the story but script wasn't amazing, love the cast but the script didn't utilised their talents, felt the musical numbers were kind of dull but the dancing slightly made up for that. Think Audrey was perfect casting choice but her singing wasn't the best :/ I went into this expecting so much too but to me it was only a 7/10 movie... Maybe when I watch it a second time I will enjoy it more

Honestly, the Beatnik scenes really stunk...especially when Kay and Fred performed. Audrey was a great choice but the writing and story line could have been a LOT better. I have watched it numerous times and the more I see it, the worse the movie gets. The best classic movies are ageless. This one is so aged, it has wrinkles.

I think the film is loses steam in the second half. And yeah, the romance doesn't work. He's a possesive asshole.
