It is coming on TCM on January 8, 2009 at 4:30 A.M.EST!

Please double check your local tv guide for the time in your area. It has been many years since I have seen it but it is a good movie with good acting. Enjoy!

I really enjoyed it. I'm surprised it isn't more well known. When Jack Lemmon got stuck down below, it became very compelling for me. I can imagine that there must have been similar situations during the war-- men trapped in a wreck going down and facing the choice of losing their legs or their lives. And others having to leave men behind who were still alive and who they could talk to, but who they could not rescue.

I was also intrigued by Rita Hayworth's situation and was surprised that she chose Mitchum's character over Lemmon's. I just couldn't have imagined how hard life could be for a woman in the position to get anything she wants with her looks.

The part with Lemmon trapped was so tedious and disjointed from the rest of the movie. I knew he would get out and they just kept dragging it out. I would have rather seen more of the Mitchum, Hayworth, Lemmon triangle.
