Has anyone read A Farewell to Arms or knows if it is similar to the movie?

To me, not really. Lots of events in the story were changed around, or completely omitted.

No, this is a very poor adaption. Watch the 1932 version with Gary Cooper and Helen Hayes which is very true and a much better film. Or read the novel or listen to the unabridged CD. The novel is unbelievably great.

He tended to write simple sentences so I'm guessing even you should be able to handle it.
