I think that there are actually two reasons to watch it. The one given (my fancy of choice is the gorgeous Muriel Pavlow) and the very fact that it is indeed silly. It's meant to be. It's not serious, just a bit of non-taxing fluff. There are no messages, just sit back with a few beers on a rainy evening and enjoy. Got that? There are plenty of more meaningful movies to watch when you're in the right mood and no-one's forcing you to watch this one so just take it for what it is.
