Too christian for me

It is no doubt a good movie. But I find it to be... too... Christian. I guess

Adinath (Lord of the beginning) is not a necessarily Hindu concept, and is never used by anyone to refer to god. It is a concept in Jainism, but that would be a wrong guess for other reasons:
1. The idea that god is different (as compared to god is present in everyone).
2. The idea that god is inherently superior (everyone starts calling him Babuji immediately) than everyone and not a better facet of nature.
3. The idea that god is a father figure!
4. The idea is that everyone should be ashamed of their acts,
5. Babuji is western (and characteristically wears western clothes), rest of them are 'savages' (with raw expressions and uncivilized movements).
5. People carrying the burden of sin, of which they are never absolved.
6. The idea that God is 'disappointed' but always gives another chance to those who ask for it.
7. That the right way is to surrender yourself to god. I mean, they leave their wife and children to stay with 'Babuji'.

I am forgetting some more points, but the fact that movie is all about christian morality being bestowed over lowly Indians is beyond doubt. Shantaram's other movies also bear his trademark pandering to Western audience.

Due to this reason I put this movie in the same category as The Birth of a Nation, though not probably not as controversial. Technically good, never the less.
