Where Oh Where?

The town used in this movie, as well as many other westerns, is a large, sprawling community that caught my eye years ago. I would love to visit this "set" much the same as I have visited Mescal or Old Tucson, to walk the streets seen in so many of my favorite movies of an era long gone. It would be hard to believe that this was no more than a back lot of some movie studio and that the buildings are mere facades that no longer stand.

As with many outstanding movies, these surroundings lend much to the believability and feel of the times indicated and I'm hoping against probability that this place still exists and is open to the public.

Help?

It's the Columbia Ranch which is now the Warners Ranch in Burbank. The western town no longer exists.
Look closely at the wall next to Andrew Duggan during his shootout with Randy Scott. It's the same wall Lee Marvin & his horse were leaning on in Cat Balllou.
You can recognize the Columbia western town by the grain elevator coming up through the roof of the one of the buildings. On the other side of the mountain seen in the background is the Hollywood sign.
