This was really a fun film to watch! I recommend to anybody, if you're not shallow. The cheesy effects, and the dialogue we're well put together. It had the campy quality that I love oh so much. 10/10! Only one problem, I watched it through the newly remastered DVD and their was a scene cut-out. From what I heard, it has to do with something of the sphere that the cyclops pulls out of himself. I would love to see this scene! But ah well, great entertainment! (:

yes beause when cyclop pulls the girl up the whole cave goes alone with it, infact the whole screen goes away and your left with black. that is some great effects, certainly wont see in any other movie.

I do recall saying, "cheesy effects". Something tells me you haven't seen the movie, just someone who saw James Rolfe's review and wanted to spread their peace. God forbid that I have an opinion on a film I've seen.

What made you interested in it? You just made a derogatory comment about one of the major parts of his review. Not in a way of "haha that's terrible, it looks awesome" in a way of "wow that looks terrible" being that that was what your comment basically said is, "yes this movie has crap effects, it's really awesome" I would ask you certain parts of the movie, such as how does The Cyclops die, and how does Lon Chaney Jr.s character die but what's the point? Their isn't one, since I know the answer to the original question.

Lon Chaney character dies inside the cave, something to do with stealing and firing a gun, dont remmeber exactly. and frankly i dont remember seeing cyclops dieing, i remember they manadged to escape with the plane. i have also seen the amazing colossal man and war of collosal beasts (whose ending i found particullary brave for 50s) as well. It was James Rolfe that got me intrested in old sci-fi movies in his "monster madness" 4 years ago, however i seen much more movies than he rewieved. lately i got my hands onto a large colelction of 50s and 60s sci-fi movies so im watching many of those lately.
If you dont believe i saw the movie, joke is on you. I dont really care, this movie was terrible, on all aspects, but this video editing stunt stands in particular because it is something we havent seen before, even in times when movies were built on 1000 dollar budgets within 2 weeks.

I wasn't accusing you of not seeing it, you misinterpreted my reply. I was asking questions, to see if you knew how it turned out. People all the time say they've seen the movie, and really it was in the background while they were texting or on the computer. The Cyclops does die, the spear impales him and he pulls it out. Then at the end it shows him lying down clearly dead. I wasn't aware that their was a joke going on, little birdie never informed me...but yes I realize it was terrible. Did I ever say it was great, or a masterpiece? You're putting words in my mouth, I said it was entertaining. Sometimes I like to just watch a movie that has bad effects, or hardly any effects. Because like I said, it's entertaining. (towards my standards) I'd rather watch this, than a CG movie, where the whole movie is just about "Look at these effects, they are amazing ".

This movie wasnt "look at these effects" movie, but it didnt shine in any other side either. there are much better movies of that age that has a better story/acting/script like Rocketship x-m or Them.

The "look at these effects" reference was for new age movies. That are swarmed with CG. The side it shined on for me was that it was shlocky. I know they're countless others, but that's not the point. Just because something else exsist, it shouldn't demote the original. As in, yeah it was crap but entertaining to me, But oh wait, that can't be since their are others out there like this but better. I see all movies as equals. Except for the new age, the passion just isn't there with all the movies coming out. No, I'm not comparing them to movies like this.

I just watched this on TCM. I remember seeing this as a kid. wow I didn't remeber Lon Chaney Jr being in it
