I've just seen this in its entirety for the first time.
In my opinion the James Whale film is slightly better but Cushing and Lee are the best Frankenstein and monster.
I have typically been a fan of Hammer's Dracula films but I believe this rivals any of those.

Yeah.... I'm a traditionalist.... I like my Frankensteins with Karloff and my Draculas with Lugosi...
But the Hammer films brought in a delicious amount of "sex"... Not necessarily intercourse, but lots of buxom wenches and barmaids with boustierres and low-cut tops...
And in blazing color, yet!

I prefer the 1931 version slightly more, but this film is still very good. With Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing starring in it, it can't possibly be anything less than great.
