Initial Shock Value Which was Scarier, Boris K. or Chris Lee Creatures?

For me it was Chris Lee with reason given under thread 50 Minutes.

Both are great but I'd have to say Boris Karloff is just slightly more creepy/shocking. It is still a bit chilling now so I can only imagine how terrified it must've made people in 1931.

I'd have to go with Karloff, because he managed to breath so much more life into his monster. His performance was packed with different emotions, that could leave you terrified one minute, and crying with sympathy the next. Now to be fair, Katloff was given more to work with. While in this film, Cushing was the star with Lee as a brute monster. In any case, Karloff and Lee were both fantastic actors
