Coulda been a great film.

Her reasons for what she was doing kept changing.

It seems she hated her husbands's world and his friends, then she loved his world and wanted him to succeed. Then she hated it again and had an affair with his boss, and then shot him because he either ended the affair or refused to promote her husband.

Scaterbrained......too bad.

I think that was intentional as she was very conflicted. She loved her career, but felt the need to cave in to the conventions of the time and live out her ambition vicariously through her husband and assimilate into what was expected of a married "little woman", which was all a woman of her talent could hope for back then.

I just watched this. How could you be confused?. She shot him because he changed his mind about promoting her husband. They had a one night stand and he agreed to do it. When he relented and met her at that club he said it was just pillow talk. He husband was not suited for the job and he almost wronged the best man for it (Charlie) when he agreed to her demand . He also regretted making a fool of her husband. He knew she was bad news and that he had been manipulated by her too. He mentioned her supposedly "happy accident".

Just for the record, I'm not a Dude, I'm a Dudette!
