Not worth struggling to hear

TCM's copy of this movie, which is on right now, is pitiful. The soundtrack is all bolloxed up - you can't hear ANY conversation, unless you pump up the volume to near max. This is not good, as all the added sounds, like traffic noise, car motors, doors closing, phones ringing ARE completely audible, to the extent it probably woke my neighbors.

Not worth fighting the volume button up and down, up and down for 90 minutes. I'm going to bed.

Must be your cable operator. I just got done watching it, no problem at all, nice and bright sound.

:sigh: Time Warner - the bane of my existence. Thanks for the heads-up.

Problems with Verizon here. I didn't know how high the volume level goes on my TV until watching it this weekend - 63. Sometimes I had it on 18, sometimes 34. I thought the speakers would explode during a few scene switches. Even at 63, I had to rewind the DVR a couple times to understand what was being said.

Sound levels made it one of the most frustrating movies I've ever watched at home.

I'm watching this right now on NET NY TV, CH. 97, the religious station, which shows movies many times. I can hear it perfectly. Looking at this movie, it just makes me wonder why a career woman like Barbara would want to stay in a situation like this even though her husband is worth it. With all that banging in the movie no wonder she went nuts. Burr took advantage of her and then just dumped her. He said he felt guilty, well then, why did he go to her home and make love to her. Too bad she killed him. She would have gotten over him in time.

the sound on TCM is just fine.

We had to use closed caption, since we couldn't hear it. Really was not worth it.

Same problem on netflix. I had to watch it with the remote in my hand. Still, well worth it.
