Car scene

In the car scene the "brother" risks not only his own life and that of the "sister" but very nearly kills several innocent civilians. Given who he really is it's just not credible that he'd do this. Moreover, what's the motivation? He's not trying to convince her that he's really her brother or drive her insane, so why would he demonstrate that his driving skills are equal to those of the actual brother? The only conclusion that occurs to me is that the film maker couldn't resist inserting a hair raising car scene that had no real plot function. Any thoughts on this, anyone?

No, the scene wasn't really needed for the plot, like you said why would a man in that position take such risks? Having said that I found the scene exciting! Also, before I knew he was a police inspector I thought he was just showing off.

Such a small love. Such a little tear.

Totally agree. He almost took out at least half a dozen innocent bystanders on one particular curve. The whole aspect of endangering innocents and police coercion to attain a confession is just completely ignored. I quite frankly found the ending ridiculous, considering what had gone down beforehand.🐭
