Great early Chaplin!

Best silent comic shorts I've ever seen, I loved "A Dog's Life" and "The Pilgrim"!

They are great Chaplin shorts - I'm glad that he didn't narrate over the films like he did with "The Gold Rush". I can't watch the narrated version of "The Gold Rush", to me the narration ruins it and because the intertitles seem to be removed, you can't just mute the sound. It's unfortunate that there is a cheesy Western song during "The Pilgrim" segment.

Aw, I love that western song! Bound for Texas! I felt it added to the ambiance.

The 3 films, Dog’s Life, Shoulder Arms, and Pilgrim are ALL masterpieces. For that reason, this is one of my favorite Chaplin releases and made me a silent film fan!
