That shower scene ...


A little short of 10 minutes into the movie Eddie (Richard Conte) playfully tries to drag his wife Alice (Dianne Foster) into the shower with him over her half-hearted protests. The scene lasts all of a few seconds but manages to inject a sudden and unexpected frisson as risqué (from the perspective of 1957) as anything I've seen in a movie of that era.

I felt the same way. They cut just before he pulled her in. If she got wet even with the robe on that woulda been over the line for 1957. Still... pretty daring.
